  3. Try again.[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7VhYD9hCh_s&feature=mfu_in_order&list=UL]YouTube - ‪RSmith Oak1‬‏[/ame]
  4. I'll try the first two again. They are brilliant, honestly. Tree was over 200' tall and we were rigging out 60 tonne lumps. With polyprop.

  7. This weeks antics. Ross Smith climbing, 'Stone Cold' Steve Woodnuts running the rigging. Tailing the end of the rigging line into a plastic dustbin was a new system that worked really well on a crowded site (timber left lying ready for extraction).[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7VhYD9hCh_S&feature=mfu_in_order&list=UL]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7VhYD9hCh_S&feature=mfu_in_order&list=UL[/ame]
  8. Good work. Your chipper is smoking a bit though Matt....
  9. That bit reeks of BS. Can't you request a TPO?
  10. Congratulations by the way. You lads must be getting through plenty of graft.
  11. Don't worry too much Hodge. Say you charge £480 for a domestic job now. No VAT. You could charge £400 + VAT (still £480) to domestic customers so you don't overcharge them. Sure, you earn £80 less, but think of the VAT you can claim back on fuel, kit, vehicles etc., and you can back claim for 3 years on purchases where you still have the kit. Commercial jobs, you're laughing. Word of caution though. Never, ever mess around with the VAT man. He will shaft you very hard with no foreplay or lubrication whatsoever!
  12. Done that a few times Geoff. Funny how they hurry past when you pull up sharpish and step out with the Gransfors in hand....
  13. Good stuff Ady. My mates are calling in tonight on their way to a week in Montchavin/Les Coches, so that has just rubbed it in a bit more! Next year....
  14. That union looks dodgy mate. Can you get Fred Dibnah there to deck it with explosives?
  15. Few randoms of an Oak felling job. A structural engineers report had passed the death sentence on 5 of them. Fun job, helped by Ross Smith for a couple of days for some of the more tricky climbing. All the decent sized chunks will be heading to the mill next week.
  16. Cheek! He was testing my new handbrake app!
  17. Bent a few of them in my time!

    Pinto

Loving those rounded edges, looks real smooth. What are those green things that appear to be attached all over the tree?
  19. Know the feeling Carl. I've got two decent sized lumps of Walnut in the conservatory that have had eviction notices to make room for a baby buggy. If I could source an 80mm auger bit they would be about £5k's worth of wine racks!
  20. Couple of Ross Smith working on some Oaks yesterday. I thought they came out pretty well seeing as Stevo drove the Transit over my iPhone and killed it for a couple of hours in the morning!
  21. Great stuff Drew. I bet that was harder work than it looked. I'm a Year of the Monkey man myself!
  22. Nice one. Looked an awkward tree. I did wonder about the yard!
  23. I'm happy to tackle any jobs you get in my village Paul, up to about 25ft if the tree is pretty chunky.
