  1. Good to hear that Alex. Which cord are you on? Mark, that Spiderjack vid is something isn't it? Just like me.
  2. Perhaps the Stihl product development guy should look at making a decent bar cover for a big saw. As soon as I cut my fingers when one of their two-piece bits of plastic crap falls to pieces again I intend to sue them for every penny. Mainly for ruining my sex life.
  3. Funnily enough Mark I'm on XTC Fire 13mm and am about to change to Imori. I use Armor Prus 8mm (bit of a CE issue but it is available), and it works well on both, and lasts ages. See you at the next meet!
  4. Sweet. Makes it look so easy.
  5. Beat me to it Lurcherman! As Dave says Mark, so much easier if someone demonstrates for you. It's a pretty unforgiving hitch!
  6. Nipper on the way, and I'm after a Mountain Buggy Terrain in good nick if anyone wants to sell one. I appreciate how much they are, and would part with good money. No other type/make/shape considered. Thanks.
  7. Just got my renewal form, really happy with this years quote. My company included a glossy stating the importance of LOLER, PUWER, correct training etc., which I think is great, and it was illustrated with some full colour arb-action shots. One of which shows some Billy-Bob type using a 200 from a MEWP bucket wearing a baseball cap. No eye/hearing protection whatsoever. What hope is there! No names here, you all know the drill, but I'm cutting all day tomorrow with my left bollock hanging out. Hopefully Stevo will get some shots we can offer them for next years glossy in exchange for a cheaper premium.
  8. I think the crack with the NFU is just ringing different branches until you get one that will do a quote, then ring a few more until you get a quote you like! Mental!
  9. Only when Google Streetmaps is down mate.
  10. I'm doing that with my Machocan or VT now on ascents with no limbs for a good poke. Find being able to take a wrap of rope below the hitch and good all pelvic thrusting is easier on the arms sometimes. Tom D put a vid up of the use of a sling for ascents, I recall.
  11. Presume the timber is going to a decent home Peter. I hope!
  12. Ditto Nick. And how would you cook your sausages?
  13. Well done mate. Cracking trailer.
  14. And a list of what you couldn't, you perv.
  15. Stretch Air Type C Extremes - I need to know more! Pics?
  16. What's the difference with the new 2011 type Justin?
  17. You never said it was a Mac. I've just remembered I'm getting my nails done and a Brazilian next Thursday.... Often climb into conny hedges to see what it's like at cutting height. I thinking climbing a fair sized tree before you quote it is a good idea on two counts - 1) You will defo have a better idea about the time the job will take and 2) You may well impress the client by your keeness, and the fact that you use a harness and all manner of modern tomfoolery. You only get one chance at getting the price right, so why not put a bit of effort in? Good post.
  18. I'm a throwbag genius now mate. Line in, pull it where you want it. Leave the experimental gob/hinge/lateral tension/taper/super-duper stuff to folks who don't mind replacing fence panels. Wood acts differently at different times of year as well, so many variables. I haven't had a leaner go the wrong way since at least 11 o'clock this morning.
  19. Good point Ben. I clipped my side strop into the gold rings yesterday for the first time in ages. Left my pruning spikes in the truck....
  20. Answered for me mate. We shouldn't be in a fall arrest situation, should we?
  21. Ditto Pete. I would also erect a small sign next to it outlining the story so people don't think you are a complete tree rapist!
  22. Rob, you know you can strop directly onto the gold rings on the Sequoia? Much more comfy if you have to hang your weight off your strop during an ascent without limbs to stand on etc. Both great harnesses IMO.
