  1. I never said it was comfortable. It isn't. I could probably hang my truck off them though. Probably bad for your innards as well, but I'm typing this in between necking a can and cooking a curry, so they're used to abuse.
  2. Nice. Bet you're having a beer tonight John.
  3. I'll happily hang off any point of my harness mate, the tree is more likely to break first. Don't clip into a Caritool though. That hurts your back.
  4. 😂😂😂😂😂 I think we are on the same page mate, but you put it so much better than me!
  5. Why do people think we should command more money than doctors? It's only at the really top end of arb that it changes, doing stuff like Reg and August most days. We choose to do it. If the money is better elsewhere, go elsewhere. I would love to see the industry being more valued, but it isn't likely to happen.
  6. Fixed. Seriously if it's not FUBAR'd I'll buy it off you.
  7. Rich is whoring himself in Norway mate. He couldn't handle the South London winter anymore.
  8. They do make cracking ropes don't they? My Portland Braid has had some hammer and keeps going, and my old XTC climbing line has been hideously abused after I retired it, and just refuses to die.
  9. Spotted. Don't think about leaving the country please Sir. Oh....
  10. More info mate. Near the coast? Self catering? Dogs? What do you want to get up to? Etc.
  11. Totally agree. I'll probably get one like. I like lasers.
  12. It's Friday, it's quarter to four, and I'm still on the tea Al!
  13. I never get too hung up on all that old bollocks, just keep adding or subtracting both till it works how I want it to.
  14. We should all be charging more and paying more, but it just ain't like that. My kit, my insurance, my time pricing and running the show. I probably don't clear £125 myself most days. Nobody ever said life was fair. If you're in it for the money you're in the wrong game.
  15. You know you tie a VT upside down for SRT right?
  16. Good post Badger. We also need to appreciate the gulf of difference between an entry level groundie, and an experienced rescue-ticketed one who can drive anything, tow anything and pretty much run the job. Kevin, I appreciate what you're saying, and your sums might stack up on a good day for me, but they don't on an average or bad one.
  17. Chris I've just been through a virtually identical situation, but my mate was a very good groundie. I'd have paid him £150/day if the industry could stand it. But it can't. So I didn't. And he's gone. We'll stay mates though, rather than financial bickering eating away at our relationship..
  18. No. I meant climbing. I thought you worked in IT?
  19. Because it's a bit of a head-copulation at first and you can easily get frustrated. That's for working. Access only you'll be fine. Have you done much climbing?
  20. £80 is about right. With swallowing.
