  1. Nice one mate, ta. Same with the strop on the 540, but it's no biggy. I use a small Caritool with the gate removed.
  2. You bastards. It's like looking into a crystal ball.
  3. I'm scaling things down these days Paul, but if I was on the way up I think AA approved status is a no-brainer. I think most decent outfits probably don't realise that most of their ducks are already in a row.
  4. Many a true word said in jest mate! Seriously I normally get decent freelancers in for reductions. I was never the best at them, and seem to have got worse. Most of them ended up with a grind!
  5. Too many idiots were buying them and cutting themselves using them for one-handed logging. HSE talked about banning them, so it's an attempt to impose some control. Now all the idiots just buy them on eBay, which is totally unregulated. I'm sure if you went into a local dealer with your current tickets and showed them your upcoming course dates they may be fairly sympathetic.
  6. Quick update. Had the op yesterday, but more involved than I'd hoped. Washout, chondroplasty, and loads of microfracture. Crutches for 4-6 weeks. Pain is ok, doing very light physio already. It's the little things that are annoying me already, like making brews and people calling me when I'm doing important research on Pornhub. My wife has taken the kids out for the day, they were jumping on me and nicking my crutches.
  7. Can anyone put a picture up of the rear attachment hook? I want to know if I can quickly sling it one handed without adding an extra crab, a feature I love on my 540.
  8. Ouch John! Have you got a rib support? Usually elastic with Velcro. They're not the be all and end all, but it helped me a bit in the first few weeks back after busted ribs. I had the same concerns as you about painkillers, but was told that taking Ibuprofen is beneficial. Hope you get on top of it mate.
  9. Taking one for the team mate!
  10. Don't forget though Paul, you need unapproved hackers like me doing rapey tree work to make the approved guys look better!
  11. Maybe it was the man not the machine mate!
  12. We're jesting about it, but I remember receiving my first text message in the mid '90's, and thinking 'this will never catch on'!
  13. 😩😩😩😩😩
  14. But the pump I bought said '1 careful owner'?
  15. I'm thinking it would be an advantage in more gardening type stuff, Mrs. Miggins is where the money is, and de-limbing connies and such. I've got 3 other toppers with 12" bars if I need them.
  16. Oh I'd want the .043 cutting gear.
