  1. Exactly mate. The poem preceded hydraulic splitters, mind.... I've always found 'ash green' to be truly awful firewood as well.
  2. Jesus! Beech as well. Bet that was a sporty drive home.
  3. From a Stallion Stubby? Lucky you didn't drown.
  4. So cynical Alec. Frighteningly true probably.
  5. To me this is dead simple. The lad needs to say to the company he wants to be paid 10 hours, or they can pay him 8 and he'll meet them at the site. Or they can poke their job. UNLESS He lives near the yard and they're doing him a favour by effectively giving him a company vehicle and diesel to get him to work. We need more facts! I take it it's not an arb job?
  6. It's my favourite show by miles and I'm gutted I'm missing it due to injury. I would have cleaned up in the climbing comps.
  7. Thanks mate. At the minute I feel like I helped build it!
  8. Pretty sure that's the one Reg rated, comparable to the 150 though, not the 35cc family.
  9. Thanks Sean. Your thread has helped my positive approach no end.
  10. Thanks Steve. I'll need an eye operation shortly!
  11. Has he talked to them about it?
  12. Buy one off Mesterh Tommy. If it doesn't fit I'll buy it off you as a spare.
  13. Yes, but still occasionally foul the strop on the Caritool.
  14. I've always found this saying to be a cretinously inaccurate pile of country bs, like that stupid firewood poem.
  15. Nice one mate, ta. Same with the strop on the 540, but it's no biggy. I use a small Caritool with the gate removed.
  16. You bastards. It's like looking into a crystal ball.
  17. I'm scaling things down these days Paul, but if I was on the way up I think AA approved status is a no-brainer. I think most decent outfits probably don't realise that most of their ducks are already in a row.
  18. Many a true word said in jest mate! Seriously I normally get decent freelancers in for reductions. I was never the best at them, and seem to have got worse. Most of them ended up with a grind!
  19. Too many idiots were buying them and cutting themselves using them for one-handed logging. HSE talked about banning them, so it's an attempt to impose some control. Now all the idiots just buy them on eBay, which is totally unregulated. I'm sure if you went into a local dealer with your current tickets and showed them your upcoming course dates they may be fairly sympathetic.
