  1. I was just about to jump all over you for appalling spelling of 'spliced'! Nod at Treeworker will be able to help if anyone can. If Puk is there this year working for him say hi from me if I don't make it, and to Nod of course.
  2. The brain is the most important part of the body, but it's not much use if your body doesn't work very well. Unless you're Stephen Hawking. Education is important, but big biceps is importanter.
  3. Can you sell them to Tescos? They'll probably specify 12-month payment terms anyway.
  4. Sounds about right. Those dissectums go for about £20 for a titchy one in a pot. Do you expect me to transplant successfully Mr. Bullman? No, Mr. Acer. I expect you to die! MWWWAAAAAAAAHHHAAAAAAAA!
  5. Grisports are worth a look.
  6. Cash is king. Separate pockets for beer and burgers, and shiny. Avoids the temptation to drop £2k on a bargain GRCS or something when you've had a few ciders at lunchtime.... Don't be expecting ridiculous discounts at shows, the Internet did away with that years ago. Do, however, look forward to top advice, banter and try before you buy service from the top sponsors on here.
  7. I found myself saying that every day mate....
  8. Nice job there Don. Yours didn't look much fun Ian!
  9. Your TM was pretty agricultural there Ste. I hope you got fined.
  10. My labs best mate was a Rotty, sadly she died at only 7 from cancer. One of the sweetest dogs I've ever known. I was surprised my mate wanted one, because I'd listened to too much ignorant bullshit about them, but that changed the day I met her. On the tail thing, Tia was terrified of water, and I could see why when she tried to swim. Best left I reckon. Dutchie is a working dog, and has a massive tail. It's been battered and bloodied a few times on big days, but I'm pretty sure she's happier with it. Back to the pop thing, I milled a few planks and beams years ago when I first bought my Alaskan from Rob, just practicing on low quality stuff, really. Some of those pieces are still doing service on various structures at my yard, probably 10 years on. It is pretty featureless, but I'm not asking it out for a drink.
  11. Donaghys Cougar mate. Blue, Orange or Puke. Great in both applications.
  12. Jomoco, do you think that to an extent people are choosing Cobra because it's faster and easier to install, and certainly less fatiguing than steel, rather than looking at the problem and choosing the best system available? Let's move away from the fire-risk thing here, I'm talking UK specific.
  13. Good find, but some of the old steel bracing I've removed on takedowns has been far from small. One old holm oak we did had huge steel collars with big chains supporting laterals, installed decades ago. I think there's s place for both systems.
  14. Would steel bracing not attract lightning strikes?😧
  15. Wow! I'm guessing that was around when Jesus was a lad?
  16. Good call. Get the grit out so it doesn't blunt the big saw.
  17. They're probably too busy worrying about more likely scenarios, like being eaten by a shark.
  18. Has anyone ever rescued a non-arb from a tree?
  19. Yes, the lad is a bit of a helmet, but he's only encouraging people to do what we did when we were kids, and seemed fairly responsible about damage etc. Surely kids are better off climbing trees, keeping fit and learning about risk than festering away on their Xstations.
