  1. Green Plant are about 30 miles away at Guildford. Orange Plant at Burgess Hill are nearer, but not sure if they do TW any more? Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  2. It should be more worrying that most of the doctors are. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  3. You're a confident guy Jake, it's all in the mind! [emoji23][emoji51] Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  4. I don't know Jake. I've strapped a few trees up in high winds and come back to them later, I'm pretty sure they would have shat themselves without the straps. They looked like the elephant man, like. Proper ratchet straps, not Halfords luggage ones. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  5. To be honest I'm kind of done risking my neck for people who have pretty much put themselves in this position. I might still climb it, like, because I'm greedy and the MEWP cash would keep my wife in shoes for a month. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  6. As the lads have said really, you were there, we weren't. Your call in the end, and if they're happy to pay for a MEWP jobs a good 'un. From the pics I'd probably have climbed it, but rigging it would be a bigger concern. Let us know how you go. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  7. You need to run from customers like this, not walk. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  8. I hated working for you anyway. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  9. I can only see it being better than the 125, which has no grumbles with any of your concerns above, apart from maybe super-wet conny, but even that's ok if you feed it sensibly.
  10. I think we're getting in too deep here (and the MC is always going to be a big guess). The answer is, yes Ty, a 20T 360 will handle that stick easily. Id be more worried about getting out of the way of the butt when you fell it up that bank!
  11. 6.3 tonnes. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  12. I forgot you were a bit of a unit. Aye, Zigzag or VT and foot ascender might not suit you. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  13. Agreed. You can't base a spec on 'give it a couple of hours worth and stop when the truck is 1/4 full'. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  14. A repollard is a repollard. If that's the spec you could end up cutting stuff telegraph pole thickness or above. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  15. I used to run a single cab Transit, absolute ballache constantly shifting tools and kit. I run a double cab now with the back seats racked out, but there's a lot of wasted space (the seats are still in there). Something like this would be the best option for arb work (with greedy boards). Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  16. The major benefit is customer service. Ring the business helpline and you speak to someone English who sounds like they can read past primary school level. This is why I have a business account, although HSBC have just closed my local branch, which at least means I've finally had the sense to say no to cheques, which I make very clear at quote stage. 17. That's exactly it. It's not illegal, they just don't like it. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  18. I'd go extra/king/super/space cab rather than double. More bed space and dog/kit friendly, especially with suicide doors. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  19. That's the way I'd go. Something like this. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  20. +1 It wasn't a 'tree surgeon' who 'cut it back'. It was an idiot. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  21. Canny crack there Matty! Glad you got it done mate. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  22. I don't want to divert things too much from the catastrophic and tragic element of this thread, but by far the biggest number of injuries forcing climbers to quit the industry early are caused by wear and tear. Wrists, elbows, shoulders, knees etc. Everyone needs to look at the big picture. The tree game is great, don't leave it early. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
