  1. Jesus, the chain has been going backwards for 6 years! That explains quite a lot, actually.
  2. Well played Scotland, deserved win. Owens may have been a bit harsh, but he simply spits things that no other human would.
  3. Good thread, this. An ageists dream!
  4. Husky 351. Good saw I think, but I didn’t know enough then to get the best out of it.
  5. Most on here have a lot of respect for ex-forces lads, and they tend to make the move into this game easier than most. Might be the beastings and the working in gash weather training! Good advice on saws already, PPE and climbing kit definitely a ‘try before you buy’ situation if you can. We’re all different. Or start with Husky bib and brace trousers and Stihl brown boots like I did, then every upgrade will be luxury! Good luck with it, let us know how you go.
  6. Thanks Woodworks. This is for a level, nomal lawn. I know I'd have to leave the cut a bit a bit longer, but would still want to go as short as possible, if that makes sense. Cutting twice a week at the height of the season wouldn't be a problem at all, it's a quick job.
  7. Has anyone got any experience of the Stiga Multiclip, in particular the entry level 47 model. It's not for commercial use, just my own smallish lawn. My old cheapo will probably need replacing this season, and I fancy the idea of no collection and extra nourishment for the grass, but I'm slightly concerned about the finish, which looks crap on all the vids I've seen.
  8. Sadly, it will probably never change. The Yanks just can’t seem to grasp that every country with tight gun control is doing somewhat better on the mass shootings front than they are. They are like a small child putting their fingers in their ears and going ‘raaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh’.
  9. Absolutely. I would have been gunned down several times in 1980 alone. Spotty Ridley whacked me with a cricket bat once! I bloody deserved it, mind.
  10. My brother in law lives in Oz. Workers get a certain amount of sick days without any penalty. It's considered the norm for people to use all of them.
  11. That barrow is embarrassingly bad. Anyone who can't push 100kg in a normal barrow deserves a Chinese burn, a dead leg and be told not to come back.
  12. Ring Mark at Skyland. 346xp isn’t a domestic saw though?
  13. Got you now mate, cheers. Still well over, mind. Be lucky!
  14. Cabstars have always been good trucks, didn’t know about the limited slip diff now. With the right tyres on that sounds promising. I’ve always thought they were a bit too small, front and back, but they certainly handle weight well. Parts availability used to be a massive let down with them. Is that sorted now? My Transit is an old dog, but it’s been pretty reliable, only major issue was swapping out the crappy DMF flywheel when it shat itself, and 2 alternators. Nearing 100k. Can’t comment on towing, it’s lived it’s life with sub 750 TW’s. Avoid the scissor ram tippers, they’re crap. As to towing 4-5t of timber I’m sure you can make up your own minds on that one.
  15. 'Taxing corporations'. I'll admit theres an area that could do with some improvement.
  16. Sounds like a workshy scroungers dream. I'm sure it would be extremely popular.
  17. There’s a similar stump at Wallington in Northumberland. I had a good pic but one of my young techno-vandals seems to have deleted it!
  18. Is that for everyone Steve, or just Land Rover owners?
