  1. Just stick a Landrover badge on the back. That would also have the advantage of instantly making it worth £10k more.
  2. Just checked. 5 years and unlimited mileage! Wouldn't fancy buying one afterwards, mind!
  3. Don't they give a ridiculous warranty though?
  4. Coming over here, taking all our carbon dioxide....
  5. That’s shocking. Now will you listen Mark?
  6. Top banana Conor. Looked a gnarly bitch of a tree.
  7. No mate, switching between SRT and Ddrt. It is possible now, but it is a pita.
  8. Because my Cougar Puke is fluffy as hell now and I cba to retie a VT or thread a ZZ through every other climb. The gear basically just lives on the rope. A new full fat Cougar Blue wouldn't hurt.
  9. I bet you were Tony! Cheeky buggers!
  10. I wonder where Notch came up with the idea from?
  11. If that tree is 5-6' diameter and the rootball ends up in the stream you will be looking at probably more than a morning's work! Get a pro to look at it. You obviously haven't found one yet.
  12. Your tether might be a bit floppy mate, but let me know how that works. I’m thinking of going back to a VT for ease of changeover, and using the ZZ for Ddrt only. That means buying a new rope.
  13. Me and my crew can do any tree on the planet in a day for $500 wise guy, and if you want to argue I can threaten you for at least 40 comments.
  14. High Explosive. That would be fine, I’m sure James, with relevant signage. And NPTC ‘Use of HE with intent to dismember thieves’ certification, obviously.
  15. Exactly. You know those jobs where you rock up with all the kit and it’s been an awkward one to price because you know that you’ll be done by 2.30 so you price it for a day and get it anyway? Then the neighbour comes out and asks about a small conny fell that would normally be £200. ’£150 if we do it right now.’ ’Great!’ Kerrching! You win, the neighbour wins, we all win! The NHS wins, the government wins, the country wins! Hurrah! Making efficient use of available resources. It’s a winner for everyone!
  16. I think you’re about spot on Ben, as is Tom’s take on things. Pursuing the right customers is key, it took me years. I’ve now got plenty who I don’t even price, just bill them at the end. Tougher for you lads running bigger outfits, though. Much tougher.
  17. The NHS should hold a massive sale a few times a year. It works for the carpet companies, they’re coining it in.
  18. No mate, he sold his Camon, it was a CS100 that got nicked.
  19. Exactly Richy. Anyone who wants to is free to go and retrain as a brickie or plumber.
  20. Good heads-up Shaun, just round the corner from me so I linked a few folk last night. Pretty sure a lad has come forward to claim the flat-pack stable, it was nicked from their yard where they make them.
  21. This was me earlier, paying the chiropractors.
  22. Good shout Ben. Also, the whole purpose of running a company is to make money from other people doing the work. As long as you're not ripping the arse out of them then everyone's happy.
  23. Good tip that Mark, so is keeping the combi can spouts clean for the same reason. I used to be pretty good for servicing after work, few cans, heater and tunes on, but I've slipped a bit these days. Always carry stump vice and all sharps kits in the toolbox in the truck. More thorough maintenance seems to become more vital on Sundays if a trip to buy soft furnishings is mentioned.
