  1. Great use of the ‘tut-bag tortoise’ at the end JP.
  2. Mark Bolam

    Huel

    Has anyone tried it?
  3. Absolutely not Mick. It's Friday. Perfect for an alcohol-fuelled finger-pointing witch hunt later this evening.
  4. It missed out the bit where 'he then made off at high speed in his caravan'.
  5. If you can remember it you weren’t there, man.
  6. I’m holding back until I find out if the operating system is Android or iOS.
  7. Thanks for clearing that up mate, it’s so much clearer now.
  8. Thought I'd drag this old thread out before the real whingeing starts.
  9. I like mine because it's quick. The Chester is a bit of a fanny-on for a quick job. That said, I think the Chester contributes to a smoother, more upright style on ascent.
  10. You're on your own on this one Vesp. Not a particularly well-liked bunch on this forum. They are now talking about a £100k funeral for him, ffs! They should have just given him the cash then he wouldn't have had to rob pensioners. You are missing the point about the shrine. If they want to have a shrine, have one, but it's totally inappropriate to have one there. It's like putting a shrine up for Hitler at Auschwitz.
  11. What a waste of money. He didn't have a 38th birthday did he?
  12. What a load of old shite that poem is. I detest it on a molecular level.
  13. The sad thing is they must find people or they wouldn’t be offering it.
  14. Are you implying that Diane Abbott made it?
  15. Dubai is a funny one. Camel. Land Rover. Range Rover. Ferrari. Range Rover. Land Rover. Camel.
  16. She did win (ish) a general election Mark. Syria? Not our fight. Pleased ISIS are getting a hiding, but still not our fight.
  17. Appreciate the plaudits fellas, but I’m pretty much a conduit for the stuff I’ve learned through Arbtalk and the people I’ve met through it in the last decade. Steve has to take the credit there. You’ve contributed enough in here over the years Dan, you at least deserve some help when it sounds like you need it. I look forward to having a beer with you, along with many others I’ve yet to meet, one day. I don’t want to meet you on aldishelfstackers.com or something. Which is where Joe Newton will end up, the cheeky little fukker.
  18. Cutting the amount of days you work will fix that mate! I try to be pretty vague about dates, I try and work with the weather a bit. Nowt worse than booking in a slippy beech rj three weeks ahead then finding out it’s lashing down and you have no plan B. I ring Mrs. Miggins the night before and say we can rip her bush out instead. I totally understand that my business model doesn’t suit bigger firms.
  19. Feast or famine John, for sure. I’d be banjaxed without my regular clients. I’ve noticed in this age of 24 hour delivery if you start telling new customers there’s a six week wait they tend to go elsewhere.
  20. ?? Joe’s advice is sound as well, that’s pretty much what I did.
  21. It’s definitely partly that Martin, I bet a lot of folks haven’t ventured in their gardens since November. It’s also partly that people want work done, but don’t want boots across their waterlogged lawns, so they haven’t picked the phone up yet. The work is building up, just in time for nesting season.... Keep your chin and prices up Dan, dropping either isn’t the answer (insert bitter learned from experience emoji here). I’m looking forward to a ‘I can’t cope - I need a Mog/Bandit/Crane’ thread from you in June....
  22. Sounds tough Dan. Stick at it if you can mate, the prolonged winter has held everything back. When the weather gets it’s act together the phones will go mental. You need a long term plan as well though. If I had to climb full time now I’d be destitute.
