Usually you get what you pay for. do you know why they are so cheap?
I’m really not sure you have been fed good information, Greenmech are as well built as anything else out there mainstream and better that a lot of others, I have run a good few GM machines and had little issues, as for Forst, I had 2 and both were terrible on reliability! If I buying another small machine it would be GM TW Jensen or shitslinger!

We had one for a while, good little machine, very capable and well built but I was never a fan of the roller set up, the new Evo is a different level .

Can anyone shed any light on what is the acceptable and legal way to specify the specification of a crown reduction?
I have just had a 211 notice returned as ‘Invalid’ after 3 weeks (🤬) post submission as the planning officer has asked for it to be specified in ‘metres to be removed ‘ rather than my submitted spec which was a 25% reduction to strong lateral growth .
I’ve never had this before .
Surely unless it states on the form that all measurements must be in metres , then my original submission must stand as valid ?
What does the panel think [emoji848]🧐
Yes most councils want it in meters now simply because it’s much clearer and less open to interpretation.- 1

Does it state the salary on offer? I couldn’t see it, not for me but I’m sure most will want to know.

Don’t get me wrong, and Stere makes a valid point, that pubs (were!) full of fat bastards you used to ‘play a bit’.
Plenty of evidence at arb shows of blokes in their 50’s who still think they have a 32” waist!
Why you having a pop at me again!

Said on there buisness they were nptc qualified
That means they have passed basic industry competency tickets to use a chainsaw and climb a tree , doesn't mean they know what there doing in reality, its done now, leave it to recover and see how it goes

Price but other work from them looked ok
Cheap normally means crap! were they actually a bonified firm or a gardener with a chainsaw/travellers?
What was the spec that was agreed before they started?

I would use the term "Arborist" v loosely !
No its very poor work, did you pick them on price alone?

We have a 75 and a 990 ad both do conifer very well, as been said you have to keep the knives sharp or performance soon drops off.

No, they have two.
A front axle and a rear axle.
Unless yours is horse-drawn. ?
If you rear the original post it says Rear axel!

That the one of flebay i take it? i was considering buying it but the seller didn't answer this phone or email on numerous occasions, never use either so cant really help but i would guess there there will be a difference in throughput due to the extra power. My only concern with that machine was if it had been "blown over" for sale .

Depends how you want to do it, proper job, strip down, bead blast re spray and re build or just blow it over and roll it in glitter.
I would say anywhere from 500 quid to 5k

Cracking little saws Josh, I sold our 150s about 3 yrs ago and got a brace of 2511’s fantastic little things, I know what you mean about the on off switch, I wish they would make them spring loaded so always live like the 540t .

I just don't see that as a reward Ian, company isn't near the thresh hold yet, but will be next year if my other projects take off ( yea that ain't appening this year ? ) as clients will require it. K
It depends of what your doing i guess, as say a one man band plumber, sparks etc then i guess no its not as you buy limited tools etc but in the tree game everything i buy Tools, Fuel, vans, chippers etc etc all have vat on so i may as well get it back, theres lads round me who trade on not being VAT reg but what they don't realise is there running costs are much higher than mine, basically IMO if your in business and having to deal with other businesses for what ever reason its better to be VAT reg.

Had to explain this to a Builder myself, you charge then claim it back, basically yr an unpaid tax collector for HMRC at point of sale. [emoji36] K
Unpaid yes but your reward is being able to claim back all the vat others have charged you that you wouldn’t be able to if you weren’t vat reg!- 3
Customers asking to pay cash to avoid VAT.

Builders generally don’t have “on the books” staff, pensions paye etc and little over heads.
