Off to do my weekly shop....the Romans certainly new how to build roads...long and straight....and it continues for about 2 miles in the opposite direction.

Final part of my journey....the ten minute trainride from Newcastle to Durham where I shall spend the day with my Son and my Grandson....

When I started my journey this morning it was raining......now all I can see is blue sky:)

Started the morning early...Day off today:) thought I would cycle Wylam and catch a train to Newcastle. A pioneer of railway engineer lived here...lovely little village with a Spar and a Brewery (many brewerys in this part of the world) £2.50 for a pint of real Ale! Couldn't believe my eyes when I found a cycke path all the wsy to the City...flat and through glorious scenery and following the route of the Tyne river....passed George Stephenson's birthplace...inventor of the Rocket:thumbup:
