  1. What a simple life I'm leading these days...work...chip...sleep..repeat:D but it's what I wanted. A life where I could be near my Family..I miss Mrs Fox and she still asks me to come back and live in London. I'll go see her around Xmas time. My Pick up has become my best friend! when im not working It gives me Freedom and I love travelling around the countryside near my folks. I will travel further afield at weekends next year...last weekend I removed the frith from my face I had been cultivating for Movember and went to join the thousands of people enjoying the Lumierefestival in my Beloved Durham...my favourite installations being a phonebox (which I used as a boy to call girlfriends) that had been filled with fish! And an Amazing Elephant projection so life like with a truely earsplitting sound system...as it stomped along in almost 3D like quality!
  2. London did have it's advantages....Beautiful women everywhere. "020" Was a nice lass....and "Golden Silky" was the shout for a Stunner........"Rusty Bowsaw" was the opposite, if you didn't agree.
  3. Interesting Drew......each to their own I s'pose:thumbup:
  4. Thought I would put my slant on Connor's evolving as a climber through some images I took today...he listens to what you tell him regarding his climb...work position and cutting (using a Silky for this reduction) he is very comfortable working at height and his cut/hold and chuck was first class! Well done Squirrel:D:D:D we will make a lead climber of you yet:thumbup:
  5. I found a sledge for my grandson...but at 100 quid...a bit out of my reach.
  6. Last week whilst the Boss was looking for something to spend his money on...me and the Bear enjoyed a superior cup of coffee:thumbup:
  7. I was lucky enough to use the prototype that this is very similar to... (if not, the same). If you liked the Mark 1 ZZ, you will love this one. It is a joy to use especially teamed with a thin rope and pulley saver:thumbup: since I sent mine back I have been back on my Spiderjack but I will return to the ZigZag....it's That good! GET ONE!
  8. What a satisfying day yesterday!..in fact one of my favourite since I returned to the North...a full day of tutoring The apprentice as he carried out three disciplines of tree work...he did a great job! Teaching is definately where I see my future. I love it. Enthusing about Tree stuff... the sky was beautiful as I approached the yard at the end of the day..but I knew it was getting cold...I recieved a text as I drove up the hill to my cottage..."your gas is re connected" it said... about time! I thought. Three weeks I have had to wait. Better late than never. Im running out of layers..even with fleeces, hats and more recently Duck Down slippers I have been freezing.....all I need now is for the Landlord to allow me to burn logs and im a happy man!
  9. Last climb for the apprentice before the end of the day...branch removal in hand held sections....again, he nailed it! A couple of weeks ago he wss up a 10 foot apple and now he's on his way to becoming a climber...and im sure a lead climber one day...he is steady and calculating. He is learning fast and when I'm coaching him through the job he is a great pupil to work with...Good on ya Conner! You did excellent yesterday...I'm proud of ya! And Chris was telling me how pleased he is of your progress...keep it up....onwards and upwards:)
  10. I may have to create another thread...this time for The Bear...when he's not doing push ups on site or meditating....he's quite tbe joker!:D:D
  11. Now I know we have had a good week when the boss is giving us Venison!
  12. After succesfully deadwooding this morning's pine...conner had his second lesson of the day...navigating an Ash covered in ivy! Ladders to the crown break then push through! once again he completed the crown lift/tipping back with a 10 out of 10:) even removing his hangers on the way down.
  13. Yesterday morning got off to a strange start....but new apprentice Simon "the Bear" Grant sorted things out:D...we need a young climberin the team and our training of Conner is going well...he did all three climbs yesterday under our supervision...taking things steadily and by the book!
  14. Dan, ihave always wanted a wooden Handle for ny Nakanoto...could you make me one?..I will pay you!..pm me bro:)
  15. Robson Green's Extreme Fishing Challenge....and, Fred Dibna's World of Steam.
  16. That is really good news to wake up to!
  17. My life is no longer in desperate times as you know. I am content although still without gas but that has all dwindled into insignificance due to a couple of recent events...the catastrophic typhoon whuch has brought so much suffering to the Philippines...I was shown so much kindness during my time in London from the filipino community and friends of Mrs Fox...they are wonderful people and I feel so sorry for their nation....I only hope they are able to survive this.......... My heart felt so heavy when I read Little Green woodchopper's post. And when i looked at my Grandson last weekend I couldn't help thinking about poor little Fred....life can be so cruel. And however hard we feel we are done by, there is always somebody worse off...thinking of Fred and the Philippines tonight.......nothing else.
  18. I do like your style of woodcraft as you well know Clive:)
  19. You certainly are a very productive chap Ian:) I admire that:thumbup:
  20. Star Wars is,(and always will be) Ultra Cool... I remember all the hype on the T.V and Radio leading up to it. I went to see it with my Dad. it used groundbreaking effects never seen before and became a blueprint for many science fiction movies......May the force be with you!
