  1. The tractor i run is big , i use a lot of fuel getting there it is 40k but i struggle to keep that speed dodging motorists pot holes children etc

Was thinking that i could run half throttle and still do 40-50 k and run over the pot holes and motorist

  2. I do like the fendts most of the ones i have seen have high hours

    I am looking for a light weight , 220 +hp , suspension , and 50k speed

    to run a heizohack

A lot of the estates i go to have small yards access is really bad even for the tractor i have

    Any suggestions ?

  3. You really need to run at 750 - 800 revs as Alex suggests

If you have a smaller powered tractor you will need to run 540 pto but your tractor must be running nearly flat out

Using 1000 pto you are almost halving you power output

It all depends on what output you are looking for , ie arb waste where you dont need a lot of output per hour , or biomass where you need max out put using large timber

I use 220 hp 1000 pto at 2100 revs 800 revs on chipper

At this rate the stress relief normaly cuts in once on a 3m length of drysoftwood @ 14-15" dia

  4. Make sure you have power to control box , watch what happens on the digital readout . Check in the fuse box for loose wires the vibration has broken a few wires on mine , wiggle each wire . Double check the fuse for corrosion , the manual isnt that good

  5. Anybody got any info about using red in a tractor to chip for biomass on another estate .

I travel to chip other estates timber that i have not felled

Also how about traveling on the roads to convert timber into logs for other people , or is it the same as everything else , a very grey area

  6. 100% grant ? are you sure ?

You see my business is part time so i have real problems raising the money for a bigger chipper , and yes i already have a loan

The grants are great for people who already have the funds

I have to find £30,000 or more first then wait for the grant money and try and sell a secondhand chipper which could take a while

Having to wait possibly 7 months is a long time to wait

  7. Powered by a mf 8160 200 at the pto but can go to around 250 if i need to or a new tractor if i need more

It has a botex on the rear which i might transfere on to new chipper , or possibly get a 2.5 tonne mini digger to feed it

I will go for a new hm 8-400
