  1. I only ever worked with one female arb worker, she was strong an pulled her weight, never got to climb cos the company was full of chauvinist's that never gave her a chance, It was shameful rely but there yoo go, wishe there were more havin a go, like her Kx

  5. Flail mulcher-tiz the way forward........Kx
  6. No-Im not apportioning blame here-its a sad case as every avoidable injury / death is, it just highlights our duty of care, we, as tree surgeons just identify the very specific risks inherent in trees in the landscape, Kx
  7. I shall start welding the track rail over the passenger side of the cab roof for that Barrett .50 calibre mounting........Ask Ells if it is gonna need a change on our insurance...... K
  8. God- you too ?? That happened on my card !
  9. Not really Steve-it has a habitat value and some asthetic qualities, BUT it must be monitored ! Kx
  10. Yea- a very sad incident -It lookd like a poplar, from what I could see in the pic, possibly summer branch drop- and frankly I use incidents like this to underline the fact that if you administer or own an area of land -accessible by the Public, with trees on it or over hanging it , you MUST HAVE written proof of a regular inspection regime or pruning / works policy in place or the solicitors /barristers will eat you fr dinner. No get - out here, no 'oh its too expensive to have work done' ect, it has to be done -end of. Kx So, fencing it off or moveing picnic table-is too expensive ? ( Bloody idiots) I hate hearing of people dieing because of LA , Police, Government cost cutting nonsense . Kx
  11. I dont think there is-frankly, if they want the tree out....there is noise involved-end of..... Kx
  12. Umm-cheap ones ! Youd best bin them after several months as they start to loose their cut resistance ( RE NZ cut tests a while back) Stihl do a nice pair Ive climbed in-their entry level ones (design A which are best fr summer climbing ) remember to put this on yr RA as 'summer heat stress tho K
  13. Yea there is -dont get me started-it is nice working in an Arb companty with a clutch of Northerners, we have such fun in the South K
  14. Yup -Paul let me use his rig , an Im sold on srt - am making a rope wrench-cos I aint got Ps money for unicender K
  15. Does take more thant several days to build the right muscle groups to get climbing well- hence my suspiscion of these 'fast' courses, for beginner arborists, however-you have the right attitude, so keep at it, K
  16. Mate -Honestly , this isn't scare mongering -its why clubs wont give you pints of water anymore-I can't be prescriptive abt this because every body is different -bodyweights and work duration and suchlike, but gobbing huge quantities of water is dangerous-do research it if yr not sure. Kx
  17. RIGHT ! -Now, be careful abt this ! DO NOT ! Go drinking huge quantities of water ! From my clubbing experiences * cough* ( And viewing toxicology reports ) and working as you all do also in this blistering heat, drinking loads of water can be lethal, your body won't know what to do with it-and it will screw up yr electrolytes balance - Drink those sport drinks, or add salt to yr weak fruit flavoured water an small amounts only. Tiz far better to cool yr neck an rinse yr mouth, then sip yr drink after youve got yr breath back ( in the shade ) I won't bombard you with links and facts and reports, just give yr body an easier time and take care ,kx Track paramedics treat more people from over drinking water than they do for dehydration.
  18. Wot ! Brian Sewell is GAY ? ...................You sure ?
