  1. Proper mans drink is Baileys
  2. Going off on one a little but what amazes me about knowledge and instinct etc is nature itself. How does a bird know how to build a nest, not just how to build a nest but each species builds in a certain way, style and use of material. How do certain species of whale, normally solitary, come together in a specific place from thousands of mile to mate
  3. Disagree with that one, most phobia's are learned, not hard wired
  4. Their just not up to it these welsh boys Stevie, good job he hasn't been on a bender with us eh
  5. What you need Janey, is a 16 year old apprentice to input data and measure whilst you walk round with your hands in your pocket telling him/her what to do
  6. Good man, thats what I like to see, good self control
  7. I saw this thread this morning at 4am and thought it was going to be a stevie ripping to bit thread, then got back up this morning to a huge disappointment
  8. I wouldn't say that Andy.... I proper cacked myself
  9. Tree works have got to be one of the most regulated jobs going, 10 times more regulated than Corgi gas fitters. It's only when things go wrong that the chit hits the fan
  10. You've got to be joking, I'm 46 next and I still see me climbing into my late 50's or at least another ten years left. You just find yourself climbing more efficiently rather then gung ho and most of the time it turns out you climb faster
  11. Got caught out with that with the landcruiser Stevie, wont get caught out a second time I always stick the centre diff lock on before jacking it up now. I was tracking the MEWP onto the trailer on the back of the cruiser, when the MEWP got off the ramps it picked the back of the cruiser right up in the air and it proceeded to naff off down the drive. I just kept tracking forward onto the trailer and it came back down again before it got to the main road
  12. The camera itself is brilliant, mine lasted well over half an hour and I didn't know you could switch the lcd off that will extend battery life The mic is on the side of the unit, its the round bit in the orange sealing strip, I was wondering if the orange seal ids touching the mike. I'll not fiddle with it until they have had a look at it.
  13. I'm having problems with mine regards the sound rupe, it sounds exactly like yours despite what setting you have it on. I'm going to ring them after xmas to see if it can be sorted
  14. Time to ditch the Colways and don the anacondas The 30mm spacers on the hubs give the landy loads more sideways stability when fully loaded and for those who say they cant cope with the weight...I've tested them beyond reasonable doubt and they cope ok
  15. I need to get my moneys worth out of them bob, I think PPE is absolutely rediculously priced, the government should subsidise it heavily, I mean nearly £200 for boots and the same for decent kecks, no wonder people wear them till they drop off them
  16. Decent chainsaw boots work a treat, I've been working in muddy and snowy conditions all this week in the Haix boots below and believe it or not they are still waterproof and warm, the goretex sock liner is still intact despite the boot falling to bits
  17. I can only speak for thor as I have the 20t PTO model and it's been faultless
  18. Sorry Mike, using girls for lunge posing is not allowed, they are far more flexible than us hairy butts so put us at a disadvantage
  19. Haaa, now I see what you are on about. It matters not bob as long as the actual felling cut is spot on, you ARE allowed adjustment, I checked with the spirit level for level and was thinking about taking the sander up to polish the finished cut but that would have been abit ocd, I am available for consultation Bob if you come across a technical fell you may need a bit of advice on Seriously now though.... I always cut the splinters off straight away and because I messed about with the camera I forgot and then when I was cutting up the stem I leaned over to look under the stem and when I looked the longest splinter had come inside my visor and was about an inch away from eye We also came across a Bat roost (red arrow), although an inspection was carried out we called in the batman who said it wasn't being used as the bats tend to move away from the edge of the wood in winter I was going to get a group lunge photo but we were rushing a bit towards the end to get done. Most of the stems at the top are gone but theres a huge amount of timber left on site to move beginning of jan pic below
  20. Spot on Marc, it's nice to see someone else on this thread who actually knows what they are talking about and are as expert as me Bob, no second attempts mate, sink cuts and back cuts done in one, the mark or second cut I think you are referring to is actually sawdust.
  21. Everytime I sit in Kentuckys carpark eating my chicken drummers, that image is going to flash before me. Thanks Rich
  22. We're not having you as a hinge judge after that remark. Mark, those hinges were horrendous, you should be ashamed of yourself man
  23. But this is my thread, started in honour of me.... and I'm trying to get it away from man poses, it's making me feel sick The high backcut allows the hinge to "peel" forward slightly giving more flexibility to the hinge and therefore longer before it starts to break when having to winch a long way. Hard to explain so I'll try and photo it. Stevie, you might actually learn something other than how to show off your posing pouch mate
