  1. i shouldnt worry too much about missing the S, i dont think many people will notice!
  2. just so you all know, the forum will be undergoing various changes at random times over the next few days....so if any settings change that you think are detrimental to the site please speak up.
  3. ive just added a google search bar in the search menu so you can search directly from the forum
  4. im referring to the long prussik used to secure yourself to the doubled ropes, not for a foot hold

  7. theres only one person you can rely on in business, i quickly learnt that....plough more of your own money into advertising and generate more of your own work...thats the route im going down now.

  10. that pic was taken by a professional photograher. basically around about that time the company i was working for was having a brochure made up. there was a photographer coming out random days over the course of a few weeks, basically whenever he was in the area, taking photos. this particular job we had a platform on as the tree was very dead and parts were over a road so it made sense. as we were overmanned in the ground i got into the tree and starting knocking out some of the easier half of the tree whilst the photographer was in the bucket above me with the other cutter.
  11. that was a pff the shelf length split tail, pleated the end to take up the extra.....looking back ive no idea why i didnt just cut it to length

  13. if its set up and tensioned right and does its job there shouldnt be any "sudden" weight, and if there is im guessing no ammount of cable bracing would change things.

  15. sometimes i think people invent things just for the sake of inventing things!!
  16. i find groundwork extremely tedious these days, and sometimes even feel a bit lost on the ground
  17. very rare to see a truck with a platform and chip box over here
  18. i went through a stage where i wasnt entirely satisfied with it tophopper....i still get a dew little pinches here and there but i think the other benefits outweigh the odd nip here and there. are you still using it then or gone back to your own saddle?
  19. nice. whats the weather like your end? i almost went to work then decided i couldnt be arsed with getting wet and muddy 3 days in a row
