i guessed your reasons hehe....only 12 days to go eh, fingers crossed -
Just checking, i was expecting the photo competition to have been a lot more popular considering the first prize is worth near on £200. I'm just wondering if those of you who havent yet entered are either not planning to, or waiting for the perfect picture opportunity at work?

i wouldnt say that! i have one lanyard on an art positioner.....my main line runs on a vt with hitch climber....an art ropeguide at my tip. the only piece of kit i carry extra on my harness is the double pulley wiith a sling for redirects....which is what you saw in the pic, attached to the webbing next to the chainsaw attachment

on the screen where you type in your reply, scroll down the page till you see the tab marked "manage attachments" click on that and it will take you to the screen where you upload pictures, should be self explanatory from there

i stopped by on the way home from newquay as it was on route, didnt get there till 3.30 though so didnt have time to walk round the show. headed straight for the arb section which was small as ever. sat and spoke to nod and chris cowell for an hour and left! i dont think it had been a particularly busy show for the arb guys....i think it could do better if promoted right, it is after all mainly a landscapers show!

yes pete...the only time i snug it up is on a spar. i dont necessarily leave it loose on purpose, i just sling it round as it is. if i need to get closer to my tie in i'll tighten it up also. carl, thats an ART positioner

anyone know what elm wood is fetching? a company i do some climbing for has a job coming up, lots of straight elm trunks, 90ft trees, should be some value in the timber but obviously he wants to get the best rates he can.

pic 2 shows the eye end used as a re-direct or other second poit of attachment.....this potentially makes your lanyard redundant in some tasks. pic 3 shows that you can alternate between the prussik and the eye, for instance passing branches. i have to play around with this myself but it certainly opens up a lot of new methods to play with! chris cowell shared this with me the other day and it will all be on their website before long no doubt....hopefully he'll pop in here sometime.

ok first pic. prussik set just above your eye and clipped onto the hitch climber. this is the first stage....possibilities arise her for 2 things, ariel rescue, you can clip the casualty onto the eye, saves carrying extra hardware for the task. another possibility is a possible point to hang your saw from, this would transfer all the weight of the saw away from your harness, could be a nice feature if using a big saw and still roped in. i'll be interested to hear any other suggestions too, we'll see where this goes.

i dont think i'll make it....i just got back from cornwall and it reminded me how far it is to exeter! if it was a 2 day event id have considered it

i went on a majorly health kick last year about 6 weeks before the welsh comp. i felt great on it, but it really was a lot of work not only preparing food for work each day but also finding new things to take to keep things interesting....and then the problem of eating enough food to give me enough energy without feeling bloated
