  2. My advice is get a second set and send the original one's of to somewhere. Spectrum Plant could be an option 👍
  3. Yesterday
  4. Are you able to clean up the cylinder? Then you might just need a piston
  5. A friend's facebook story had some smashing jungle by them earlier.
  6. You can espalier them along wires instead of a wall, out in the open. Cordons, too.
  7. I don't suppose there's many DnB fans on here but just in case. Chase & Status - BOILER ROOM BOILERROOM.TV We joined forces with legendary Chase & Status to head up one of our Boiler Room London after-parties.
  8. Is there a name for espaliers that don't run along walls? Just knitted together out there in the breeze.
  9. Wordle 1,040 5/6 ⬜⬜⬜⬜🟨 ⬜🟨🟩⬜⬜ ⬜🟨⬜⬜🟨 ⬜🟨🟩🟨⬜ 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 That was exhausting. I was expecting another fail.
  10. Yes, slightly pink in the bark fissures, colour of sapwood and heartwood and star shake shouts cerris to me.
  11. They probably were pollards. Proper pollards. Lots of planes out there. Not mature trees ‘pollarded’ with 2’ diameter topping cuts.
  12. No equal from home - I’ll often bring loads back, take my pick of what I want for myself then drop the rest. The rubbish stuff, ie woodwormed, bit of rot etc goes to the free site for biomass.Couple of people will pay if I drop at theirs - certainly not expecting to get much for softwood but they’re happy and my truck is ready for the next day. if I need to tip during the job then whichever is closest 👍
  13. You didn't read the end of the article, the French stopped about 50% of the crossings with the about 250 million they have had in the last 10 years, predicted to give them another 400 in the next 3 years - lets see if that stops the rest before deciding if they turn a blind eye? However that is still only a small portion of immigrants to the UK we are talking about.
  14. You could work it backwards, say retail price of £1000. Half that for the profit and costs to get it sold, half that again for the costs to process it and then take off £100 for the transport costs to wherever it is going to get to. What looks like an expensive bit of wood in a shop suddenly becomes a very cheap bit of wood lying on the garden.
  15. What did they cut it with, a blunt beaver? I agree with the above. Bring that to my yard in straight 3m lengths that I can forklift off and I might give you a couple hundred it. Nobody is going to shift that for £200, however. I’m afraid your customers best hope is that someone local with a Multione and sawmill shifts it for free. I might if it was a couple of miles from me.
  16. I don’t wish to seem negative, but: 1) the oak in the photos has not been standing dead 15 years. Maybe one year. 2) It is not normal oak by the looks of it. Possibly turkey oak or red oak. 3) The value if it were a good oak stem would be minimal. Especially as it will have to be milled in situ. If I am right about the species, value is even lower. 4) I think most people capable of removing it would want paying for a day’s labour at least.
  17. We have already given France very nearly that amount already and they are happy to take our money and stick two fingers up and turn a blind eye to the dinghies Just a moment... COMMONSLIBRARY.PARLIAMENT.UK

  19. Good man. Pictures are welcome
  20. Got any photos? What sort of trees were they?
  21. I'm not sure my lass would be happy if I shagged my latest client and said that, but I'll give it a go and let you know how it pans out.
  22. Just spent 2 weeks cycling Loire from source to sea. I was completely blown away by the beauty and diversity of the pruned trees. What do you call it, they were mainly not pollards? Are there regional styles, who decides how they are pruned and the frequency? What age do you start? How old can first pruning be? Just loved seeing so much well managed woodland and wood being used. Did you arbtalkers move to France for work or lifestyle? Any other info would be gratefully received, would like to do some trees in front of my house which have outgrown their usefulness. TIA OG
  23. 'Diversity is our strength' 😇
