What are you charging for your logs this season

Recommended Posts

Equivalent of about 67 for hard and 56 for soft. Both are dried and we're £5 up on last year.

£62 per cube for hard wood same as last year plus delivery. Not selling soft wood yet as demand not existent yet in this part of Perthshire.

Those last 2 posts show a clear north/south divide, I do £80 m3 loose delivered but don't do single m3 unless within 5m

Thats below production costs if your buying the wood in.

I wondered why we were bankrupt... :)

Being serious though obviously there is a small amount of profit, there's certainly enough others around here charging around that amo. Hardwood is around £58 a ton here and that gets you about 1.8cube maybe it's more expensive with you?

Edit: no one in this area wants softwood so this is the first year experimenting with it.

Sounds like a race to the bottom to me.

Five years ago I was paying £45/50 ton for processor size timber delivered in.

Selling a Cabstar load (1.6m3) for £150....... At those prices there wasn't much profit on it.
