That looks ace. I particularly like the one with the twisted line that runs along the top.... is that done with willow stems?.... I guess it isn't planted.

Those are all laid Stafford style. Laid very tight and the tops are bound with the materials out of the hedge.

I saw some really nice hedges on the Staffordshire moorland a while back whilst visiting the in-laws.

 

Going to make a special effort to look up and visit some Devon / Cornwall comp's this year.

I've never done any but fancy learning. What are the basics?

 

Sharp tools. When you think they're sharp...sharpen them some more:001_smile:

 

Have a go. Build the hedge around your stakes and straighten up bent stems to fit and keep the stakes in line.
