Best vehicle to get????

I dont think i will have to go off road but what im finding is some places that want logs dont have easy access so i was thinking of starting with a small 4 x 4 then when things take off getting a tipper trailer but i am looking at cabstar tippers as well

Cabstar all the way,better than a transit,and unless you pay out thousands chances are youll end up with a dog,also its not about the image but the service you provide,get that right,and no one cares what you look like.

Whatever you decide mate, make sure you a tipper you'll soon get sick of hand balling the logs if you dont, plus a tipper will save you lots of time over the course of a week

weve often mulled this over, if your just doing logs, cant get better than a transit tipper or iveco - as you can reverse up difficult drives better than with a trailer, also have it sign written nice with your landline number on - this distinguishes you from the dodgy dealers

the ultimate weve often thought would be a hicap landrover with ally tiper body fitted - but we all have dreams dont we.

All in all if your just doing logs and not tree surgery (chipping etc) go for a tipper like everyone else says - if your doing 3 + drops a day you will soon get tired of hand balling the logs on and off - best to tip and collect your money.

L200s are OK but very uncomfortable if your a big guy, (like us ) tend to give you back ache if in allday - Landrovers brill can fix yourself, parts cheap, go off onto peoples lawns etc into wood

Before they went bust you couldnt get a better truck than a cheap and cheerful LDV go for miles on £20 of derv.

Mitsubuishi have to be serviced by Merc - so expensive

Isuzu and Nissan brill trucks, but expensive - and tight cabs., but go well.
