What a vile shitbag.

'Grime star' is the giveaway.

He should get life anyway just for going to court dressed like that.

Clearly zero respect or understanding of any basic human moral code.

We came across the "tourist tax" some 40 year ago in France, all neatly itimized on the back of the door of the room.

I bristled at first, but on reflection, it made perfect sense, tourist visitors need facilities, on a seasonal basis only for coastal destinations that it would be unreasonable to ask the local residents to pay for, and in conscience the French did provide such needed facilities.

P.S.

Start taxing jet fuel as swingeingly as car and truck fuel is taxed as well.

What I don't understand is, the Scottish government want to lower air passenger duty, but introduce a tourist tax?

As someone who never gets on a plane, that tax should be raised

Seems perfectly innocent, even reasonable perhaps when put like that.

But this is SNP territory and shouldn’t be taken as innocently as first presentation might suggest.

After all, 2 squid on £200 hotel room is peanuts and completely insignificant. Not quite so insignificant on a £20/night hostel though.

£2 today x the number of hotel accommodation beds in Scotland = a very tidy sum of money. How long before the SNP come to rely upon it, overspend it and before you know it, it’s £3 or £4 or £5 per night.

The UK desperately needs tax simplification NOT more stand alone taxes.

That’s a pretty shallow swipe at the snp, just for the sake of it! They’re no better and no worse than any other political party, also they are where they are by virtue of your beloved democracy.

If this tax was targeted to the areas it is intended for (god forbid) it could go a long way to improving infrastructure I.e roads, litter facilities, public conveniences, all of which are diabolically lacking or in disrepair it could only be a good thing.
My old head hurts thinking about another seasonal influx of tourists that the island struggles to cope with.

Absolutely compounded by RET! Madness!! Can’t even get booked on a ferry during the summer.

RET + Tourist tax= contradiction.

It's the same for Stornoway, locals either can't get over to the mainland, or get back home. Ferry full of tourists, with fares subsidised by tax payers :confused1:

Yep all true, but I don’t mind the cheaper fares when I go to the western isles.

And the rest. Euthanase him and save the money. He'll do nothing of good in his entire life on this planet anyway. What a piece of shit.
