I went to the bakers earlier a journey that normally takes me 20 minutes there and back, over an hour today because everywhere is backed up with traffic trying to get in to petrol stations.

Simple solution to this. When people are panic buying petrol or diesel make a minimum charge of 30 litres for each car or van. For those selfish people who put just 10 litres in their tank that is fine but they pay for 30 litres.

That’s the most bizarre suggestion I’ve seen to date.

The only people to blame for this bollocks are the media.

It really is that simple.

When the Secretary of State for Transport comes out and says there is no need to panic over fuel shortages it causes panic. Anyway, there was no diesel available at Tesco today so I bought 100 bog rolls instead.

How do you know he said that?

The media.

They should stop reporting what politicians say.

What's the point in ministers telling the public not to panic if the message isn't relayed to the public?

We'd all be up in harms, saying things like, we are being kept in the dark, when it was leaked.

MSM again? How about the government who are known liars keeping it shut, don't panic people leads to panic. Also it's not so easy to get tanker drivers, my brother is a driver who looked into getting ADR qualified, if he could, which he can't find anywhere to do the training it would take weeks if not months.

for many many years it was almost impossible to get a job driving tankers , best paid , easiest work there is !!  A lot of h&s stuff , so not just a case of getting another untrained driver in !!   Also , although there are more tests available now they is still not many driver trainers !!  hardly needed for years because EU drivers came already qualified,  so  trainers are few and far between and again it takes some time to become an HGV driving instructor !!!
