I'd say there's an unstoppable tide of change coming, certainly for those that are open to a different approach.

Maybe freedom from the shackles of the CAP will provide the policy which will enable and encourage a quantum shift in public thinking.

MSM embracing a new way of thinking:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-46459714

It's obviously deeply flawed (example: the carbon footprint calc for apples allows for no distinction between those that are internationally imported in comparison to those that are picked from yon own tree or the potential unforeseen consequence - if I have 6 less roasts dinners I'm good for a flight to Malaga)

None the less, good to see a groundswell of interest in such topics.

I'm about as far as it's possible to get from being a preachy vegan but I can see that 'we' have to seriously address the environmental imbalance and irresponsibility (and the blatant BS propaganda from the likes of the NFU) about the way we are farming and consuming.

A good start would start with a total and complete ban on halal meat. I'm not a veggy but I'll put my money where my mouth is if halal is banned.

That shit is disgusting!

Nah, I'm serious. I don't see a funny side to it.

I don't like to see any creature, human or animal, to suffer unnecessary distress.

It's totally unnecessary.

A death is a death, a form of suffering dont you think? and we (most of us) eat meat. ?‍♂️

well - the thing is consumerism can be seen as a way of harming humans and animals - say if you take a Sunday drive, instead of walking - or fly to a foreign destination, instead of staying at home - maybe the extra pollution is ruining creatures habitat

I agree those religious nuts are causing unneccesary suffering - the nutritional quality of the food isnt improved by their brainwashed antics

Not at all.

A friend of mine had a car accident and was found half a mile from the crash on his hands and knees. Crawling to find help. The loss of him paled in significance to the suffering, fear and desperation he felt while he was dying in pain and fear, alone.
