I've had enough of tampongate...

It looks like Trump is getting criticised by everyone after saying that both left and right were behind the violence in Virginia. I completely disagree with Trump, most of the violence seems to come from the left.... However the BBC will get hysterical that Trump isn't solely blaming the "far right"...

If you doubt the left aren't behind most of the violence have a look on youtube...

Well, if there is to be a civil war proper, we can thank Antifa for it. More confederate statues removed last night, under cover of darkness. Capitulation to threats. Appeasement. The left are driving the general population to actually hate them...digging their own grave. http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2017/08/16/baltimore-removes-four-confederate-statues-cover-night/

One group who is literally calling for the extermination of any other race and murders those who oppose them (and gets cheers on a forum such as 'maybe they deserved

What about a person of colour who has to walk past that statue every day to work knowing that your country still celebrates those who wished to keep them in slavery and continue their genocide? In a country that has rightly moved beyond slavery - which is the main issue of that war - why should it continue to celebrate those who wished to keep it going?

Don't be fooled into thinking that those in the crowd were just average american trump voters - they are actual, real white supremacist groups including the actual, real KKK who murder people time and again and get away with it.

Where do you think the idea for a torch rally comes from - just that now they don't feel as if they need masks and robes to hide their identities as they have a president that supports them..

George Washington had slaves, maybe the yanks should remove statues to him as well? Or maybe people should just accept that the history of America is steeped in slavery?

The American civil war has to be a defining point in American history. You can't just expect Americans to forget all about it and pretend it never happened... IMHO the extreme left is doing their best to forment a race war in the USA.... If you give the average White American the choice between choosing the side that tears down statues of their forefathers or the side that keeps the statues up which side do you think they will choose?

If America is such an awful place for blacks why do so many africans want to move there?

And to vespasian, 'far right socialist', do you realise what that actually means?

Just feel that this issue goes beyond 'left and right', which sure have a debate on, but when you start calling for genocide then you're rightly going to be condemned and if you decide to start killing people in the streets you're rightly going to be called a terrorist (which doesn't detract from the seriousness of other terrorist groups which I've seen nobody defend here). What do you do with a terrorist who's killing people on the streets?

What have you been drinking?..

I said I was a socialist, with right wing sympathies regarding immigration.. thats is to say I want immigration to be controlled.. let in those we need, not just those who can scam a ride across the Med..

And, speaking of people killing people on the streets, thats exactly why I want to see immigration controlled, because those we have let in have begun killing people on the streets..

And as the incident in Charlotesville, my beef is freedom of expression being brutally suppressed with violence.. fascism.

If it was the right violently attacking communists, I'd be ripping in them, don't you worry..

The thing is these statues aren't historical artefacts from that era - they were erected in the 1910's and 50's when, guess who, the KKK and other groups were having a time of most popularity. Out of the second era as a reaction came the civil rights movement and here we are today with an (compared to those times) at least on paper equal country where people should have the same rights. So they're not neutral remembrances of the war and those on each side who lost their lives but they're political symbols placed there at big times of racial unrest to influence laws and divide people.

Sure the civil war was more complex than just the issue of slavery but that's the main issue that was the clear divider between the sides and what it's remembered today for. It's political background and the surrounding culture of racial division  is also what attracts white supremacists to it today.

You really think it's the left that's to blame for racial unrest when there's a president that's being openly racist and hence follows a wave of racist attacks?

In the UK there are hundreds of mansions that were built from exploiting the British working classes. Maybe we should all get together and tear them down? They are evil monuments of the greed and inhumanity of the industrialists of the Victorian era.

How about Waterloo station as well? It's just downright evil that we have a train station named after a battle where we killed so many French. It's just downright sick.

As for Trafalgar square. Well we should also tear down that statue of Nelson the French killer.

I think President Trump says what many people think. We all know that there are violent agitators on both sides in Charlottesville. This idea that it's all the fault of the right wing is clearly preposterous.

If the the winning and losing sides of the American civil war can live in peace I think the African Americans can as well....
