bob

& what do you think them usless tossers would do ??

Things have changed in recent years Johny, there are hundreds of scumbags banged up for cold calling and robbing the elderly. Its taken very seriously, the police can chase that cheque back to whoever cashed it and take it from there.

Trading Standard and the Police can co-operate to trace via your Bank who's account the cheque is paid into.

Taking the law into your own hands can backfire, so perhaps best to defer the satisfaction you deserve.

Law enforcement may dissuade the offenders from targeting the vunerable in future.

Someone of his age deserves a little respect, hopefully he has some decent neighbours you may look out for him. Sad to hear stories of this nature.

Been to the police . They gave me a sticker to put on his door .

Bad news sorry to hear that , but at least as others have said your dad hasn't been taken for thousands like some pensioners and you've been too the police and tomorrow you can stop the cheque

But this makes you so mad and do what eggs suggested

Not yet he hasnt but no doubt the scum will try again once the cheque clears:thumbdown:

Price of scrap has dropped so there will be loads of this going on atm unfortunately.

Pretty grim, at least it was only £130 and the scum done a tiny bit of work.

To go round and give him a doing over might cost you more than that and a criminal record!

Is it worth it?

I don't know! Ask eggs!

My dad was done over with similar. A penny pinching neighbour got some "guys" over to do some tree work and then called off, they knocked on my fathers door (85), offered to trim a couple of Poplars out front (Mornings work), took down three phone lines, drove him to the bank to get their money then pissed off saying "BT will fix it"!

I forget how much it was as it was some time ago but circa £500 I think and BT were all for charging him for his and his neighbours phone line repair.

As much as I tell him not to, he seems to talk to all the idiots selling junk at the door - he even spent £6 on some gadget that takes the edges off sharp knives - it was supposed to sharpen them:001_rolleyes::sneaky2:
