Firewood processor elevator screens??

Do any of you use a screen on the end of your firewood processor elevator,to try and let some of the very small bits fall through to the ground or big bag opened out. I ask the question as I have started processing some spelted Beech and as you know it shatters badly. Also lengths of wood very variable, so also a lot of short ends,it means there are more small and odd size bits of wood going into each load , than I would like.

We need one for the end of our processor...

But trying to persuade the boss to get one, is a different matter.... :001_rolleyes:

'I'm' desperate for one.

The amount of chaff / waste in the bottom of our drying pens is unreal!!!

And this chaff I think, also stops the air flowing through the wood, slowing the drying too....

Made a screen myself from an old stone hopper and some walkway mesh. Works well and my firewood this year is definitely cleaner. Had a number of comments over the winter that there there was a lot of dust/bark when I tipped trailers so hoping this will solve that issue.
