in what way mark, obviously you mean its too light but in what circumstances?

 

Start putting anymore than 2000kg on the rear lift arms (close to the lift point) on a 150hp Valmet you will have little steering effect under power/hills or on mud, even with 1000kg (close) they will begin to start under-steering on road turning into e.g. junctions or small traffic islands.

mine was the 8950, she weighed 10,500kg the tyres were water filled and the pump and oil tank were up front with some weights for good measure.

i only ever had the tp250 on the linkage, you didnt know it was there, and with the big trailer full of timber it was the same, stopping was always amusing though:laugh1:

I had a Witch Elm 4'6" at smiley from in Tamar Valley about 7 yrs ago, and I did smile, it was solid right through milled alot of the limbs as well, gorgeous with the green through the quater. Dought I will ever see another grown in this country in my lifetime.

POW what sort of Hoss power is the Ford 8200? great tractor and a beast in its day, we had a 8100 2wd when me grandad was farmin, that was a big un in its day aswell when mf135s and ford 4600 ruled! Love to get an 8100 just to put the splitter on bit over killbut cool.

 

IC TREES, the ford 8200 is about 110hp county had a big influence on this tractor, and then ford produced the ford 8210 which is around 115hp. yea would imagine a big 6 cylinder 8100 would be a bit over kill but great to play with!

That means you were carrying ~5300kg more weight than the standard ~5200kg kerb weight, with quite a lot of it forward of the rear axel, also I think the GVW of the Valmet 8150 to 9850 was 10500kg.

 

I don’t think a crane & grab + weights + tyre water ballast would weigh ~5300kg more like <2500kg :001_huh:

i put it on a weigh bridge and it was 10,500kg on the dot.

there was easy a ton in each tyre as i had a spare water filled one that the crane couldnt lift. and it was a big old crane, not a massive lifter but had a good reach:thumbup1:
