So Stihl, Echo, Kawasaki and Husqvarna are all best?

:001_huh:

I got three of the above and like them

But There is a number 5 looming in the background

From 24cc - 43cc

2-stroke and 4-stroke

Cow horn , loop handle , back pack or split shaft :thumbup::lol:

Likewise. Looking for numero cinco. :thumbup1:

If money were no object I'd try one of those Maruyamas (BC5020 or summit)

Money is an object so the £850 tag makes it a non runner.

Second I'd like one of those twin cyclinder Robins, but doubt their readily available in the UK.

Then I'd have that Husqvarna 545RXT for the 'thicker shaft' (always a bonus) and the excellent harness it's supposed to have. But it's a lot of dosh.

Not far behind would be the Tanaka TBC 600. Top notch build quality by all accounts but still rather spendy, as the yanks would say.

So that brings me back to a 53cc Kwakasuki and just be grateful I saved over £400 :laugh1:

I recently got an ex council owned Stihl 460, re-furbed by a licensed Stihl dealer for £365, it's an absolute beaut!!

As the guy said, If you decide to go second hand it is better to go for something like that as they are used and maintained for 2 years by the council and replaced with new regardless of what work they have done, a better idea than getting one from someone independent who has sold it on ebay because it's been ragged and is at the end of it's life.

At the start of May I worked with a river keeper in Hampshire who bought an 'Ex-Council Re-furb' and it's still serving him well after 3 years+
