annoyingly i don't know, there is no plate on the motor saying what it is.

it's 240v and about 7" diameter.

i'll measure it later as i may be able to make a guess on the power by the size of it.

measured the motor and it's 7 3/4" (not including cooling fins) and about 15" long.

anyone know what sort of hp that would be?

i can actually feel a plate on the motor but it's underneath it so unless i get a mirror and a light i can't see what info is on it.

Take a picture of it with your phone with the flash on!

If you don't mind me asking....How much did you take off the key to get the advance ? Have the same saw and the muffler is opened for better breathing so am interested in your findings. :001_smile:

Not entirely sure I'm afraid as the advanceing happened as a result of the key breaking off when the retaining nut came loose. I didn't have time to get a new one so bodged it back on with a locking washer - the flywheel must have shifted slightly when I did it, I wish I knew how much scince your not the first to ask but I've never got round to working it out.
