woodland mills log processor

Interesting post re processor and comments about licence and insurance implications for road tow. It looks very much like a Chinese one I saw at Elmia in Sweden a few years ago. Looking at the way the draw bar just slots into the main frame and a few other things I cant believe it has European type approval for road use and should not be able to pass UK IVA approval in which case it cant be used on UK roads. 880lbs = 400Kg which is not a lot of metal for 12 ton splitting. Then there is the CE compliance to consider. I might be incorrect but its best for everyone concerned to be aware so seller or buyer can avoid getting there fingers burnt.

It's a decent price for someone looking to do small scale like a few cube a year for a biomass Boiler or something. The farmi wp30 is 600kg without engine and road tow kit but I think its about £7/8k for engine/tow kit so a few grand more. A tidy splitter and chainsaw is £3k so it's seems to fill a small gap between them, If your budgets £5k looks a half tidy bit of kit.

I have one that I bought a couple of years ago. Not used it as much as I had hoped due to lack of time. Suits me fine and does what I need.

Interested in flogging it on? :D

On a serious note Im seriously considering buying one if a used one does not turn up soon. Like my Bandsaw Mill one will turn up on ebay as soon as I buy one no doubt. :D

I have access to lots of poker straight plantation thinnings and birch etc. Plus Id like to maybe use it to make money, was gonna do that with my Mill but thats not happened yet. :D

How do you load logs onto it? Handball or forklift? Any idea how many bags you'd fill a day? Or an hour if you're not doing full days on it?
