I don't want to hijack the discussion, I too want want to buy a 50cc saw (sthil ms261 or husqvarna 550xp). I don't need or want a big discussion on which one is better...and I know they both have their issues, but I'm just wondering about these running/starting issues with the 550xp's...have they been sorted out yet in 2016? I'd like to buy one this week, but not sure which one would be best? Or least problematic?

I think you're on a road to nowhere limiting yourself to just those 2 brands; sorry but that's my honest view. Wouldn't risk it.

Ok so hear the verdict so far went down to my local dealer and tested out the echo cs501sx very impressive very light and smooth power delivery I loved it until he let me loose with the echo cs620sx what a weapon of a chainsaw I didn't expect to like it so much even tho it 6.2kg but in the wood it feld so balanced and strong and powerful I didn't notice the weight of it at all fair play to echo they have 2 fantastic saws witch I'm contemplating getting I'm yet to try the dolmar witch I will try out and make my decision if it's as good or better than the 2 echo I tried today I will be impressed as far as the conversation went today with my dealer he said husky has sorted out the problems on the new 550xp models it's the price that puts me off £410+vat for a 501sx and £500+vat for 620sx I'm pretty sure the husky is considerably more
