I think they are available for £4K.

You can pay as little as 3k for remote set up, but I know someone who had a cheap after market job that stuck on and demolished a bus shelter (with a man in a basket a very scary outcome could occur).

There is one main company who make the remote controls for PM Fassi Palfinger etc and the crane companies just have them in there colour styling. I was quoted by PM and Fassi 5k for an after market set up on a fly jib crane.

Yes I just got a new battery for my palfinger control, from palfinger it would have been £180, same battery through fassi was £90.

Scanreco seem to supply most of them. You can buy a valve chest and redio remote for about £4k as an option on a new crane, but your looking at a fitting cost of roughly £2-3k on an older crane.

I have 2 battery's and a charger in the cab. Niether lasts longer than an hour, so I think I'm going to need new ones.
