Hilux owners

Recommended Posts

Hi, new to this place but just thought to say - nice choice of vehicle. I had one for about 12 years. It wouldn't die and when I finally justified getting rid of it to myself (even though it was still passing each MOT with flying colours and broke down only ONCE in those 12 years), I sold it to a friend who is to this day still drives it.

Maybe you've seen this...

My choice would be 3L - 2.5 just doesn't cut it and you'll find towing (if you ever do it) a bit harder.

Cheers

Or 2.5 and get it re mapped

A mate of mine had a 2.5l and although he hardly ever used it for towing, he found he could do it reasonably well when he did. Of course, it mostly depends on the weight of what you're towing, distance etc.

The 3.0 is only available on double cabs. I have the invincible and it goes well but only has 2000 odd mile on the clock.

You can et the lower spec trim though in double cab. Not sure on the older models though.
