I am time spent with the small echo top handle,it has done a good bit of work, one brake band (I do snap them on when a cut is done, sometimes on the run down on awkward going to hand grab it for speed cuts).

cracking little saw in it's own way,and the handle configuration is great, albeit be aware on a reach out,

the kick back potential is enhanced if your left hand grips on the rear end of the swept back side handle .It's true!

Wow. Only word I can think of. How's this for a long-term report! I've been using this saw a LOT since I started this thread and now two and a half years later can only say what an amazing saw this has proven to be. No kidding, it is incredibly smooth but best of all it absolutely flies through timber; pumping sawdust like you wouldn't believe. Will add some photos later. Was ringing up some maple today and just keep saying to myself "how can this thing be so good?!". It is shockingly brilliant. Just pumps through any wood.

As I understand it echo products excluding chainsaws have catalytic exhausts which are causing major headaches for echo because perhaps rightly, they're happier to stick with a standard 2-stroke engine and apply exhaust treatment to comply with US CARB regs as opposed to make a more fragile motor with air induction as stihl / husky have done... Chainsaws aren't fettled with these exhausts and 30 months of timber cutting with my cs600 has I think proven the worthiness of this saw; I will deffo be buying another.
