hired one once years ago for a huge willow, it was way before i had my own kit. i hired a chipper, did what you did, but i got the skip really close so when i felled the butt, i rigged up the turfer inside the skip and turfed the whole thing right in, it ended up pulling the skip towards the tree instead but it worked. that was about 10yrs ago now and the skip was about 350 then
