Shuttleworth College

Recommended Posts

'Set within the stunning location of Old Warden Park in Bedfordshire, Shuttleworth College offers a wide variety of full-time and part-time courses. The courses make full use of the unique setting and the natural resources available, which include parkland, farm land, lakes and woodland. The college now offers Level 2 and 3 apprenticeship programmes in Trees and Timber, Environmental Conservation, Agriculture and Horticulture as well as NPTC certificates of competence.

We would like to offer one place on a Chainsaw crosscutting and maintenance NPTC level 2 award (Formerly CS30) training course as a prize in support of the Children's Trust Arbtalk Christmas raffle'

This place is a great setting . Some good mature woodland which I used to break into and rally an old car I won in a raffle, around. Good subsidised college bar and when you've been ejected from that, a fine pub just beyond the college gates. The best three mis-spent years of my life , amazingly managing to pass my hnd in agriculture, back in 1985-87.

That's the one. Used to be a charles wells owned pub with some very well kept beers. Maybe because of the high turnover due to the significant amounts drunk by the students. Also did excellent grub very quickly.

Aaahh if only I had a memory of it all.!!!!

The Hare and Hounds now serves posh food. For example a venison steak comes with about 9 chips stacked 3 wide and 3 high and mushrooms in a ramekin.

Why do owners do that? Produce pretentious food then wonder why their place is suddenly full of knobs an tossers. Excluding you guys of course. My earlier comment bout wishing I had a memory of it wasn't asking about the food, just wishing I could remember the whole three years!!
