Joe, I don't use pinto's and I'm never in such a rush where tying mid line will save me precious seconds.

 

Horses for courses, just another tool in the box.

 

 

Fair enough, i couldn't be bothered with threading the tail of my line though :)

 

Any reason you don't like the pinto?

Very tasty paul. Just out of curiosity have you tested it with some thrashing of the rope? Just to see if there is a chance of the x ring popping out. Your not going anywhere if it does because your threaded through the alpine butterfly. But the ring could come down the line.

 

 

Ian, I've never had it come out. I use Kernmaster. As you say it's captured within the bite. Minimal kit and effective.
