With spectrum plant it's free post to send the blades, that's a saving to start with.

Ive heard folk say a tormek t7, watercooled grinder

You then get a jig to hold the blades, the wheel continously runs in water to keep it cool.

 

Im still sat on then fence yet. Going to have to order a new set of blades for next week as i havent had others sharpened yet

Its single phase and already has some tooling that will adapt to hold blades, its also got an auxiliary stone on the side that could be changed to do the hollow ground blades.

Everyone should have at least 1 spare set. Blunt blades do the machine no good and put stress on bearings. For such an expensive bit of kit they are cheap things to buy but have a massive impact on reliability of a machine. There is no excuse for blunt blades;)

I think I pay about 5 quid a blade, maybe a bit more for the disc blades on the GM, unless you run loads of machines I can't see the point in doing it yourself. Drop a few sets off, go back a week later.
