New MS391 not oiling chain!

Help!

My brand new MS391 I topped up with fresh (Makita) chainsaw oil, and off I went to try it.

Despite turning up the oil feed to near maximum, all it does is soak the exhaust, inside and outside of side cover, and the chains as dry as a lizards tongue.

Chain was very hot when I stopped to investigate. This is with a brand new Stihl 16" bar and chain, so can't be due to clogging or anything. Still only half way through my first tank, if that.

There was fresh oil showing in little trench where it feeds the bar, but for some reason it's not getting into the bar, but going everywhere else, mostly the exhaust. Worrying thought. :confused1:

I've read that the feed tubes for the pump on some stilhls can leak, but this is ridiculous.

Any ideas, or this things going to be used to power a bicycle instead.

I wasn't trying to piss on ya chips bud.

It just made me smile, nothing more.

:thumbup1: no worries dude.

I was kinda expecting Sawtroll to be the first to 'unconratulate' me to be honest.

I'm not that fussed, I've got a house full of saws I can use

Just wanna get it sorted, as its a nice saw, not even broken in and with a dry chain, I like it!
