Hi everybody,

i recently bought a Husky 143R11 and was wondering if i could fit a clearing saw blade to it, such as the Oregon EIA or similar. Any help would be appreciated as i am bit of a newbie to this. I actually work in the stone industry and have a side line in furniture production so am not a novice to power tools.

Cheers

Steven

According to the website no. There is no OEM saw blade listed.

HUSQVARNA 143R-II - Brushcutters

However if one fits in theory it's feasable.

It's a brushcutter, designed to run either nylon trimmer line or a grass blade.

Clearing saws have shorter shafts, beefier engines and small hard guards behind the blade to stop you chopping your toes, shins, legs off.

Buy a clearing saw if you're cutting saplings, save the Brushcutter for weeds, thistles and grass. :thumbup1:

There is a 200mm blade guard and bracket to fit the 143R11 537310902, you can then fit a timber blade, the arbor size is 1" there are Scarlet and Maxi blades available from Husqvarna, however the lenght of the tube may make life hard as it is designed to keep a trimmer head or blade parallel with the ground, a timber blade should hit the stem at an angle so the stem slides off the blade and does not come down and trap it.

Thanks for all the advice guys, it seems like it's not a suitable option for the saw on grounds of safety and general ease of use. Basically it sounds like it is not the tool for the job. I'll look around for a dedicated clearing saw.

Cheers.

Get me one while you're at it. :thumbup1:

A Stihl FS-560 C-EM would tickle my pickle.
