Am I alone in thinking that being self employed or a boss entitles you to take breaks as and when which makes a holiday less of a priority. I just grab time between gluts of work and do what I want which suits my tiny mind,I dont think I could bear to be somewhere for a set two week period pretending not to be bored witless.

Your picking the wrong destinations if your bored ;-)

The benefit of both working and no kids.

^^^ That's the way. Mrs Egg and I are planning three weeks away at the end of September, it's not finalised yet, we are flexible as we're going to my brothers place in Tenerife, so we can pick and choose what we do depending on what work I need to do.

No holidays here ime afraid, the thought of driving to Gatwick for 4 in the morning and then waiting 3 hours in a big shed before flying to some crumby hotel,or forking out £400 for the priviledge of dossing in a damp 'holiday cottage' for a week here in the uk is stress i can do without.

I feel sorry for people who 'live' for their holidays- makes me think their worklife must be dreadfull- and where do you spend most of your time? I had my first abroad holiday last year in 6 years and did enjoy it alot- but im equally happy just having the odd day off here and there, some weeks i work 6 days others only 3 or 4 so evens out.

Haven't decided where or what yet, but Western Isles and Highlands looking probable. :001_cool:

Just had 2 weeks on arran which has been brilliant even with a 7 and 4 year old, good beaches, good walks and good whisky nd beer.

Ferry prices have droped nd the cottage wasn't a bad price according to the wife. It's been a good brake to recharge but still be active which is exactly what I like.
