Neighbours pruned my tree

So would I, but as you know sycamore block 99% of light, that tree looked like it was a lot higher before, more than 30 ft.

I agree,I'd go ballistic if it were mine. But by the same token when you live cheek by jowl with other people on an estate, you can't just let a tree get huge, blocking your view of their house, and the sun on their conservatory, plus the satellite signal.

Actually you can, as long as you constrain it to your own property:biggrin:

No right to light or tv signal, High hedges don't apply etc.

Seen 60-70ft poplars ten foot from the neighbours back door. There may be some legal recourse such as miscellaneous provisions if the local authority are willing to intervene, but otherwise you're pretty much stuffed.

Ok understood, replace "can't" for "shouldn't"

Okey Dokey time to set the record straight or even level ? My customers trees were subject to criminal damage and thats a fact . The property owner that committed the abysmal Pruning attack was unfortunately living in a new build which had been built directly behind my clients fence line ? Tis a modern day phenomenon ? People just don't speak over the fence / Hedge anymore . Seriously people ... especially you younguns have some banter with your neighbors . It works wonders :confused1:

Yep, take your point, but why should the guy in the new build have any less rights than the guy in the house that was built 15/20 years earlier.

(Certain amount of Devils Advocacy in evidence here)

Because he bought it knowing the tree was there, and assuming he parents weren't related before marriage has the common sense to know that trees occasionally get bigger?
