What to do when you arrive and no one answers

I had a biggish job over an hour away chipper, 2 trucks, four blokes, money in if we did it in a day, that sort of thing.

Anyway we turn up at 9ish and the gates are locked, so I start phoning the client who lived 2 minutes away, she finally answered all sleepily and said she'd be there asap. 15 minutes wasted x 4 = I working hour.

5 minutes later she arrives with some coffee with the excuse that "she's not really a morning person" as if that's an actual medical condition.

"I'm not really a morning person" translation "I'm a lazy inconsiderate so and so"

That's for another thread really I suppose.

Well as it turns out they were in after a missive partly last night they didn't wake up only just heard from them should have said earlier the only access is through the house we did however trim the hedge and took out a small pyracantha chipped it cleaned up with out walking them fortunately the land lord has just sent me full payment for are wasted time and the half of the job we couldn't do and will give us keys to get in when we go back to do the rest

Had the same this morning, had to book a job at short notice as planned work for this weekend went pointy bits up last night, so rang customer and she checked with tenant who said they would be in this morning, got there and no car and no answer at door so cracked on regardless.
