we were told that we were allowed access when it was priced.

I left my price as an estimate.

There are no other trees to winch off, it is a huge open field behind.

A few options i would look into,

1, If the customer said you would have access, your pricing would be influenced by this, so perhaps the customer can explain the difference now.

2, As you only gave an estimate, based upon tractor access, and you think the job is now more involved (ie dismantling) you can notify the client of this and give them a supplimentary price.

3, If the field is as big as you say, how would the owner gain access to it? Perhaps there is another gateway in another part of the field? This will be of great help for the clear up even if you use a turfor to pull it over.

Just my observations.

The customer is well aware that its a different job to my estimated price, but i still want to do the best i can price wise for them. The field was last cut 10 years ago, they accessed through the side of neighbours garden and broke the cess pit and pipes, this is why we are no longer allowed access this way....There is what looks to be anothe gateway but there are two 15-20 year old oaks growning there now, i guess if i cut them down i would be as popular with the locals as a pork pie in a synagogue....:scared1: so not really an option

My thinking excatly, if the tree leans into the field anyway it won't need much of a pull. Just take a 4x4 in and use that as a dead anchor for a tirfor.

Almost impossible to give advice on a job like this without seeing it or at least some photo's.

If the field is that overgrown with brambles you'll have super fun clearing that up lol

If there is no access into the field, how do you intend to clear it up post fell? Unless you're having a big bonfire surely it would all have to come back through the garden anyway?

Originally we were to take away the logs and chip the brush into the field, but as we cant get the chipper in we have been told to fell it, de-limb and cut up the logs, then leave it for wildlife...all fine by the landowner
