Hi all I have a husky 61 and for love not money I can't get it to start fresh fuel new plug. Carb cleaned air filter clean. It run for a couple of seconds then stopped again I know it's an old saw but I like the heavy saw that it is. I'm just loosing the will to live trying to get it started. Any advice or if anyone still has one would be appreciated.

Possible lack of compression - inspect the piston through the exhaust port after removing the exhaust. Other than that, it is probably fuel related - dirt in the carb internal gauze filter, holed fuel line, carb adjustment or may be the fast idle throttle lock isn't holding the throttle open correctly.

Good luck

I've put new fuel line on as old one was not letting fuel through. Cleaned carb piston and ring seemed ok through port

Was this because the hose was split or was the filter was blocked ?
