hi all,

had a job offer from tredoktoren in bergen, norway. was wondering if anyone has had any experience with the company or the area?

the job offer is for a production climber removing large trees in short times frames. i have 2 years climbing experience subcontracting for quite a few companies and now self employed taking my own jobs on.

cs30,31,38/39 qualified..would cs40/41 put me in better stead for this position? would anyone really recommend doing it? im happy enough dismantling big trees but not really sure whats covered in the course.

as ever, any help/advice greatly appreciated!

If you can take down large trees in short time frames, then you are the man for the job.

Only you know if you can or can't.

im a confident climber but i would like to get cs40,41 under my belt from what some other climbers have said about it. ill look into dates. would be available to come out to bergen from mid june, (as i said in my email, if thats who i've been emailing?!)

cheers

I've worked for mike a few times over the past 5years and been on a weekend break to Bergen. It's a really beautiful place when the sun shines and I would probabally be living there if it wasn't so wet!

I don't have a bad word to say about mike, tredoktoren or the work, quite simply if you can you can, trees are trees no matter what country they're in. If you're nervous you can live up to expectations a course might help but I doubt it.

If like you say you're happy dismantling big trees you've probabally got nothing to worry about :) good luck

That pictures sick, is he rigging that down? Whats up with the rigging around the butt end of the piece?

sorry to take the focus off the thread, congrats on the offer! Make it happen! Im sitting in the international terminal right now on the way to Stockholm.

They are chains for preventing the tree splitting im guessing, have you ever seen compression released so the tree pops open and splits when taking large tops or felling high usually on willow or sycamore ? Not good if your stropped around it either.
