Make sure the front diff sounds sweet, I know of one that needed the diff rebuilding after a contractor used it to load himself, spreading muck, and was a bit heavy handed shuttling back and forwards.

The parts where quite expensive and had to be ordered in, not on the shelf.

The other thing, but applys to all machines is see if its had a squirt of grease around it, especially the head stock.

Over all a powerful machine, and quite good build quality, maybe a touch heavy if your planning on going across peoples lawns.

Been driving and working on them for about 15 years, brilliant machines.headstock pins and bushes, rear axle pivot bushs and main lift ram lower pin bushs are prone to problems if not greased regularly. Very well built machines really, shame they stopped making them.

Are parts still available? will be used as a yard machine. dunno if i should keep looking for something newer. i drove jcbs for years with no problems.

I'm sure it's like a lot of things you can get a good one and a bad one.

My uncle had a 98 machine ag spec the drive went and it was £4500 fix this machine had worked hard but been well maintained.

We have a matbro that looks ruff but is a real work horse the only thing we have replaced is wire in the loom that have broken down. While the matbro was been repaired we hired a New JCB the boom got stuck out twice when the fitter attended he said they had nothing but trouble with this model.

New parts are easily available, but not cheap. There's not much second hand stuff about for them like the jcb's,matbro's manitous etc.
