😳 we are all in the wrong business, 2k for a glorified hydraulic jack, seems a lot of dough but op is happy with it so that's what matters I suppose.

To be fair, its that proce as it reflects the quality of the materials used, and there is no cheap chinese parts on it. I have the original design, and although its good, its not a patch on the new one. I am thinking of trading up. I think the ram is rated at 3.5tonnes

That looks like a pretty good bit of kit. I was 'dancing' with some tree stakes the other day trying to get the feckers out and thought that something like this would be useful.

£2k is quite a bit but its what it is worth you that matters. If this saves you a couple of hours work a week compared to hand digging it will pay itself off in no time. Plus anything that saves you back has got to be a good thing.

If it saves 2 hrs per week that's maybe 40quid a week, so a years work to break even on it nearly! Seems a long payback for this particular tool.

I would say it can save 2hrs a day never mind a week! The amount of time it saves when chipping out a lump of concrete. Now I can just put the claw on it pull it out clean with out an hand vibration smashing or breaking it and so much quicker. Granted a heavy duty engine hoist could probably pull a post out, I think the main difference is this is designed to support the post as it comes out, then tip it back and wheel it around to where you want it. I would imagine there's not many engine hoists which would be a pleasure to push over rough ground.

There's only two physically hard things with fencing. Getting the old posts out and digging the new ones in and this bit of kit can make it effortless which can only be a good thing!

I use a Farmers jack/land rover hi lift jack that costs £70 and is very effective for pulling concrete posts out and takes up less room in van .

Also have a short length of steel girder too stop it sinking into soft ground .
