£90-£120 depending on experience

Spot on round here.

No less than £100 do people really expect a se qualified arborist to work for less????

Some of the people who ask me to price work seem to think we should!!

And a few "company's" around here do work for less but only on saterdays........

If you're just turning up with boots, strides, lid and lunch. 30/31/38 your total investment is around £1500-£2000. £100 is good, you should be happy with that. If you're any good you'll fill up your diary and should easily earn £20k and pay a shed load less tax than paye. If you're as good as full time it's £26k possibly net 20k if your accountant is any good. Either a) don't be greedy and whiny. b) do it yourself if you want more dosh and you take the risks.

I'm self employed, cs30, 31, 38, 39, Bali card, water rescue, unsigned van, own saws, climbing kit, PPE and a fair bit of other gear too. I've only got a years experience though, so charge £80 day rate. I do graft hard, usually 6/7 days a week!

Am I not charging enough? I'm in Sheffield area..

Cheers,

Darren James
